Carthage — President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki offered his heartfelt condolences to Egypt's President Mohamed Morsi after the death of 48 children and the injury of 18 others in a school bus and train crash in the Egyptian central province of Assiout.

In his message to the Egyptian President, President Marzouki extended to the families of the victims the Tunisian people's condolences and heartfelt sympathy in this painful circumstance.

Forty-eight children, aged between 4 and 6 years, who were on an excursion organised by their nursery, died on Saturday in a collision of their bus and a train in the Assiout province.

This tragedy resulted in the Egyptian Transport Minister's resignation, following the protest and anger of the families of the children.
