Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mariam Mukhtar Aloma, has expressed grief over the death of Justice Kayode Eso, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court who died Friday.
She spoke Friday at a dinner hosted by the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria in recognition of her being the first female Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Aloma, who described Eso as a forthright and good man, said his death is a loss to the entire country.
Also reacting to the news of his demise, Justice of the Supreme Court, Mary Odili and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Adegboyega Awomolo, described his death as a great loss of a legal luminary to the legal world.
Odili said," It is sad for the entire judicial family and Nigeria as a whole. He made his mark as an iconic judge".
They all prayed for the repose of his soul and to God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Eso died in a London Hospital at the age of 87.
