Jos — Redeemed Peoples Mission, a christian organisation with headquarters in Plateau State capital, Jos, has asked the Federal Government to be more mindful of its ambition to make Nigeria one of the 20 most industrialised nations by the year 2020 and work proactively towards it.
General Overseer of the Mission, Rev. Nwosu Thompson, said in Jos yesterday that Nigeria could not hope to be an industrial giant by half-hearted measures.
Thompson who was addressing a meeting of the General Council, comprising regional overseers and other senior officers of the church, said Nigeria must be seen to be committed to its vision if it is to achieve it.
"Our aspiration to be among the first 20 industrialised nations of the world by 2020 will be a mirage if we do not take proactive steps to ensure sustained progress in our move in this direction," Thompson said.
