The rise of the number of Egyptian street children prompted the Ministry of Insurance and Social Affairs to announce the establishment of a city exclusive for them, now that research assert that we are before a second and third generation of such homeless and street children.

This came at a conference themed "Homeless Children", which is organized by the ministry in cooperation with the labor and interior ministries.

Major General Ahmed Gad Mansour, the Head of the Police Academy, read out recommendations of the Ministry of Interior on forming a committee from governmental quarters and NGOs to provide all means that help implement a rehabilitation program which will work in favor of thousands of street and homeless children.
