Zimbabwe: Triangle Football Club Gains Promotion

EASTERN Region Division One side Triangle was promoted into the Premiership labouring to a 1-0 win over Gazza Gunners in Chipinge yesterday.

Striker Richard Kawondera scored in the 28th minute after benefiting from David Sengu's through pass to beat Rodrick Mutisi in goal.

Both teams created very few chances, with former Dynamos player Leo Kurauzvione dictating proceedings in the midfield for Triangle.

Former Triangle man Rodwell Mhlanga cut a lone figure for Gunners as he failed to steer his team to victory.

Yesterday's victory took Gishon Ntini-coached Triangle points tally to an unassailable 73 from 28 matches. Rivals Hippo Valley, with 64 points, can only reach 70 points if it wins the two remaining matches.
