Uganda: Youth Donate 100 Mattresses to Mulago

Under the umbrella of Generation Change (GC), a group of youths marked the International Tolerance Day by promoting community service.

The US secretary of State, Hillary Clinton launched the initiative GC to involve young people to create tolerance worldwide. In Uganda, U.S. Ambassador Scott DeLisi launched the initiative this year at Hotel Africana.

GC is supported by the US mission in Uganda. The team comprises thirty members and ten leaders.

Ram Hadji, head of the team said GC donated 100 hospital mattresses to reduce the number of patients who sleep in the corridors.

It is a collection of young people running twenty NGOs such as Fast Uganda, Open Space , Safe Mothers, Safe babies(Mbale) Vision I, Somali Youth Action for Development, Uganda Muslim Development Forum, African Youth Development Link.
