Jalingo — At least one person has been reportedly killed when violence broke out at a barricade set up by church wardens at a road near a church in Ibi local government of Taraba.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Taraba State Command, Amos Olaoye, who spoke with our reporter on phone confirmed the incident. He said trouble started when a group of youths tried to remove a barricade set up on a road leading to the church and as a result one person lost his life.

The police spokesman who declined to give details of the incident said he could not say precisely whether it was a religious crisis and he could not say if it was a muslim or a Christian that was killed.
