Angola: Carnival Event Deemed Incentive for Icolo E Bengo Youths

Icolo E Bengo — The administrator of the Icolo e Bengo Municipality, in Luanda Province, António Calado, last Saturday here said the selection stage of carnival groups for this annual cultural event and contest, which in his locality has already started, represents an incentive for the local youth.

Speaking to ANGOP, the administrator of Icolo e Bengo said that with this activity young people can learnt to organise a carnival group aimed at showing better the cultural potential of this locality.

According to the official, the initial selection parade makes one relive a past of hegemony for the municipality, since the traditional dances displayed before conveyed an enormous joy to the people.
