Angola: Miguel Lutonda Encourages Youth to Combine Studies With Sports

Luanda — The Angolan basketball star Miguel Lutonda last Saturday here advised young sports people to dedicate to combine their commitment to sports and studying, so that the country can have positive results in future.

Speaking to ANGOP, after participating in a march organised by the Miguel Lutonda Association in homage to the end of his basketball career, the former player of 1º de Agosto team said that combining the studies with sports activities is the best way for children and youths countrywide.

" (...) I think this is the best way for our children and youth to follow, so that they can have an appropriate training and contribute to the conquest of victories and development of the country", he stressed.

He also emphasised that the great references in society, such as sportspersons and musicians, should serve as positive example for the future generations.

The 41-year old sportsman had announced his was quitting playing basketball in December last year, having on the occasion advanced the intention of taking up a career as coach or sports official.
