Gambia: Miss Nyanya Gaye Is Queen of Companies 2012

Miss Nyanya Gaye, a staff of Lika's Bar & Restaurant has been crowned the Queen of Companies 2012 during the 3rd Edition of the competition held at the Sun Swing Hotel (Former Jerma Beach Hotel) on Saturday night.

Nyanya Gaye, who represented Lika's Bar & Restaurant, won the competition out of the nine contestants who represented different companies that participated in the beauty pageant.

Miss Adam Jobe of Elite Fitness Gym and Miss Fatou Darboe of Afriq Cars Rental both emerged second and third respectively. Fourth place and Miss Photogenic were won by Miss Aji Mam Jagne of First Real Estate Agency and Miss Aminata N. Kings of Sky High Group respectively. The competition, which was organised by Glamorous Models Gambia (GMG), a modeling agency, was characterised by series of promotions of the products of the companies that took part in the event.

Speaking to this reporter shortly after being crowned as the Miss Queen of Companies 2012, Miss Nyanya Gaye expressed delight at the victory. According to her, such a competition is very important since the proceeds of the event will be ploughed back to the society. For his part, Williams Brown, the chief coordinator of the Queen of Companies beauty pageant, expressed delight at the turnout.

As part of activities marking the event, Gibou Bala Gaye alias Gee was also awarded best Gambian artiste of the year 2012 by GMG. The event was also characterised by musical entertainment from renowned Gambian artistes including Singhateh alias Freaky Joe, among others. Musa Ceesay of Africell was the chief judge of the competition.
