Rwanda: The Fourth Edition of Tour of Rwanda Underway

The 4th edition of Tour of Rwanda started on 18th November 2012. Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Pierre Damien HABUMUREMYI officially launched it at the Remera National Stadium in Kigali.

Tour of Rwanda 2012 host 90 Cyclists from 15 teams from across the world and 15 teams: two professional teams, seven national teams from African, four teams from other continent and two Rwandan Teams.

Rwanda is represented by two teams; 'Team Rwanda Akagera' and 'Team Rwanda Karisimbi'. Akagera is composed of Nicodem Habiyambere, Gasore Hategeka, Jacque Mbarushimana, Jean Bosco Nsengiyumva, Hassan Rukundo and Bonavanture Uwizeyimana. While Kalisimbi will be represented by Adrien Niyonshuti, Nathan Byukusenge, Abraham Ruhumuriza, Janvien Hadi, Joseph Biziyaremye and Emmanuel Rudahunga.

This 8 days cycling tournament will make 890.3 Kilometers within 8 tours of almost all corners of the country from 18 November to 25 November 2012.

This year's race will cover a total of 876 kilometres which will be split in eight stages.

Phase 1: Kigali - Nyagatare

Phase 2: Kigali- Muhanga

Phase 3: Muhanga - Huye

Phase 4: Huye - Karongi

Phase 5: Muhanga - Musanze

Phase 6: Musanze - Rubavu

Phase 7: Rubavu - Kigali

Phase 8: Kigali - Kigali
