Kenya: Girl Delivers Days to End of Exams

A form four candidate gave birth to a baby boy in Nyamira county at the weekend. The 18-year-old Eronge Secondary School student is expected to sit her final two papers tomorrow.

"I hope I will be able to write the papers," she said. "I developed labour pains on my way home from school and my mother rushed me to this health facility."

A nursing officer, Richard Nyamosi, said the mother and child are in a good condition. There are a few days left to the end of the national examinations which started last month.
