Kenya: Secondary School Sports Chairman Named

LONG serving Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association chairman Barnabas Kitlit was at the weekend bundled out by Kimutai Ngetich.

Ngetich, the current Rift Valley Secondary Schools Sports Association boss garnered 22 votes against Kitlit's nine at the hotly contested polls presided over by a team of top ministry of Education officials led by Deputy Director for Quality Assurance and Standards Benson Abwao at Jogoo House.

Ngetich, the principal of Chebaraa Secondary School will be deputised by Coast Secondary Schools Sports Associtaion chairman and Waa Boys High School head Rodgers Mwafungo who received no challenge.

The new-look KSSSA team includes Western's Nobert Wangalwa, Eastern's Mwala Michael and Franklin Chabare, Nairobi's Christopher Muiya and Abdikadir Bashir from Garissa region, formerly known as North Eastern, as members. Yesterday Mwafungo revealed five more members will be co-opted at a meeting scheduled for early next month.
