Nigeria: Tuberculosis Lab to Be Commissioned Soon At Kubwa

The FCT Secretary of Health and Human Services, Dr Demola Onakomaiya, yesterday said that the completion of the Tuberculosis Culture Laboratory at Kubwa General Hospital has reached an advanced stage and will soon be officially commissioned to commence services to the general public.

Dr Demola made this disclosure when the Program Officer of World Health Organisation (North-Central), Dr Sam O. Ogiri paid him a courtesy call in his office at Abuja.

He said it is the desire of the FCT Administration to provide all the necessary equipment as well as infrastructures in all its hospitals, adding that they will collaborate with international organizations such as World Health Organisation to provide qualitative and affordable health care services in the territory.

Responding, Dr Sam Ogiri, said they were assessing the quality of ongoing Tuberculosis and Leprosy activities implemented by the states in order to ensure that implementation goes according to plan.
