Gambia: Gamcel Boosts Kombo Kerewan Sports Development Committee

Gambia national mobile telecommunication giants, Gamcel on Friday presented a cheque for D36, 000 to the Kombo Kerewan Sports Development Association (KKSDA). The presentation ceremony was held at Gamcel headquarters along the Mamadi Manyang Highway.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Marketing and Communication Supervisor of Gamcel, Serign Ceesay, said as a company they don't only want to make communication easier but also to be giving out to the society. He said though the amount might be small, it will act as the beginning of a fruitful relationship between Gamcel and the Kombo Kerewan Sports Committee. He then challenged the Committee to work towards developing sports in the country.

For his part, Ismaila K Jammeh, the secretary general of KKSDA, assured that his Association is keen to develop sports in The Gambia. He also revealed that 80% of the inhabitants of the village of Kombo Kerewan are subscribers of the Gamcel network. He hailed Gamcel for contributing immensely to the development of youths in the country through sports. He said the D36, 000 is big money to them and urged Gamcel to continue the relationship with KKSDA.
