A fire accident occurred around Flamingo Hotel on the route from Meskel Square to Bole burnt last week three houses in the area.
However, the fire accident was put under control by collective efforts of hundreds of people and fire fighters from the Addis Abeba Fire and Sudden Accidents Prevention and Control Agency. Although the Agency did not report any fatalities, it had not managed to garner the gratitude of those people who collaborated to put out the fire. Instead most had been discontented at what they say is the slowness of the response by the fire agency. Had it not been for fast response of the public, it is unlikely that the accident would be restricted only to these three houses.
