Construction of 10 Hospitals Underway in Sidama Zone

The construction of 10 hospitals in ten districts of the Sidama zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Regional State (SNNPR) by a cost of 210 million Br is underway. The hospitals which are expected to be fully operational by the end of this 2012/2013 budget year are constructed by the budget allocated from Global Fund. These 10 new hospitals will increase the number of hospitals to 15.

Agency Expects 2.34b Br Revenue

The Ethiopian Privatization & Public Enterprise Supervision Agency (EPPESA) eyed at securing over 2.34 billion Birr revenue from products and services of the public enterprises in the budget year. The amount was secured from enterprises engaged in agriculture, transport, food & beverage, construction, textile and leather among others, according to the Agency Corporate Communication Director.

Agriculture Authority to Construct 574Km Roads

The Ethiopian Roads Authority said that construct 574Km roads linking sugar factories, which are being built across the country, with main roads will be undertaken in this fiscal year. Nine of the total ten roads, which cover 519Km, will be built on asphalt level. The roads include Enjibara-Pawe, Pawe-Aima, Omo River-Turmi and road to kesem Sugar Factory, Jinka-Hana-Omo and the road to Maigaba Sugar Factory are among such roads.

Zone Targets 107,000ha Irrigation

Eastern Harerge Zone OFOromiaRegionalStatetargets to irrigate more than 170 thousand hectares of land and harvest 13 million quintals of production this winter. The irrigation will be commenced in 11 districts of the zone, and more than 180 thousand quintals of fertilizers are distributed to more than 30 thousand farmers engaged, according to the zone agricultural office.

Zone Harvests Two Million Quintals Sesame

The Western Zone of Tigray Regional State has garnered two million Quintals of sesame in the current harvest year. The amount was harvested from 315,700ht of land. Nearly 559 thousand hectares was cultivated this year 57pc is covered with sesame, according to the zone rural and agriculture officer.

Ethiopian Graduates 255 Maintenance, Marketing, Cabin Crew Trainees

EthiopianAviationAcademygraduated 255 trainees from its schools of aviation maintenance, marketing and cabin crew on Tuesday November 13, 2012. The Academy graduated 150 maintenance technicians, 60 cabin crew and 44 marketing trainees. Among the maintenance technician graduates four are Tanzanian nationals.
