The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) through its Secretary General Mr. Nathaniel McGill over the weekend issued a "serious" warning against the Auditor General, Mr. Robert Kilby, to immediately reinstate all employees he has redundant at the General Auditing Commission (GAC).
Mr. McGill furthered that there will be 'serious' legal consequences from the CDC if AG Kilby failed to heed the warning including prosecution for underling peace and security. According to him, the action of AG Kilby has under the government policy on job creation. He described the GAC action as a threat to national security and has propensity to create chaos.
The CDC chief scribed said the party pending action against AG Kilby is based on the needs to maintain peace and security, adding, if anything goes wrong in this country, it is the masses that will suffer the most. "The youths are already angry with the government because she is yet to provide the jobs it promised them and on top of that to 46 people been redundant in a single day means you want chaos and we will not allow that to happen," he said.
He pleaded on behalf of the party to those affected by the AG action to remain peaceful adding, CDC is on your side. It can be recalled that recently, what was described as a bombshell hit the GAC with the AG, Mr. Kilby led administration reportedly dismissing more than 40 employees of the commission.
The GAC said the prevailing economic situation, accompanied by budgetary constraints promoted the GAC to initiate what it called the 'cause saving and restructuring review' of the operations of the commission. This process, the GAC said, has resulted into both staff and logistics reduction across the board.
