The body of a woman who went missing two weeks ago was found in a trench at Okatekok village in Nambale. Eighty-year-old Resla Auma left foot and scalp were eaten by wild animals.
The oldest son of the deceased Ernest Makio told the Star that his mother was mentally ill. "I think she may have accidentally fallen into the trench, two kilometers from our home," he said.
Police officers from Nambale police station accompanied by village elder Peter Okunglo gave the family the go-ahead to bury her after they claimed they cannot meet the mortuary expenses. However, police have launched investigations.
