Nigeria: Visa - Kwankwaso Pleads With Ukraine Embassy

Kano State Governor, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has appealed to the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria to speed up the process of granting visas to indigenes of the state that were recently sponsored by the state government to study postgraduate courses in the East European country.

Speaking on Tuesday during a meeting with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Valeri, Governor Kwankwaso said the delay in issuance of visas to the students will adversely affected their studies in the country.

He said because the government of Kano state attached high priority to education, it was willing to work with the government of Ukraine towards providing qualitative tertiary education for its students, stressing the need for closer cooperation between Ukraine and Nigeria, particularly Kano State in the interest of rapid socio-economic development.
