Libya to Suspend Elections

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidan on Sunday (November 18th) participated in an official government handover ceremony with his predecessor Abdurrahim El Keib, Libya Herald reported. The event at Zidan's office in Tripoli followed the inauguration of the Libya congress last Wednesday.

News also emerged Sunday that the General National Congress (GNC) decided to suspend local council elections until after the permanent constitution had been ratified.

At his first cabinet meeting, Zidan said that the main priorities of his government were security, defence, health, public services, the economy, and starting the process of national reconciliation, AFP reported.
