Bong County — Five-day media training for community radio managers has got under way in Gbarnga, Bong County. The radio managers are currently being trained in strategic planning, marketing and financial management under the mentorship of the Liberia Media Center (LMC) and the International Research Exchange (IREX).

The training is meant to build the capacity of the managers in basic management skills for the up-keep of their respective stations, as sustainability has been the major problem facing media houses across the country.

About 25 participants are benefiting from the exercise following which the managers will attend another two days media stakeholder's conference under the auspices of the Liberia Media Center (LMC).

The conference also in Gbarnga marks the official close of the INFORMOTRAC project managed by the LMC which has been building the capacity of community radios in the country.
