Tunisia Plans Independent Media Authority

Tunisia will mark International Human Rights Day on December 10th by officially launching an independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication, TAP reported on Monday (November 19th). President Moncef Marzouki met Monday with representatives of public and private media to discuss the initiative.

Members of the new body will reportedly be independent from political parties and business circles, and have no connections with the former regime.
