Ethiopia: Gov't Lauds Public Participation in Dam Construction

Addis Ababa — The Ethiopian government praised mobilized nation participation in the effort being made to realize the construction of the Renaissance Dam thereby presented recognition certificates for public and private institutions for the bonds public and private institutions bought .

At the ceremony held in connection with presenting recognition certificates for public and private institutions last Saturday at the Millennium Hall, Prime Minister Haile-Mariam noted that the public has been standing by the government in fighting against poverty by supporting mega projects. He said: " The government has set packages and strategies and striving to turn plans into reality. The participation of the nation as a whole in this regard is invaluable."

The primer also appreciated the sense of ownership the public has on the Renaissance dam construction. He emphasized that the public was active participant since the inauguration of the project and in turn the government delivers gratitude and recognition certificates for the bond the public bought.

Haile-Mariam also noted that the mobilization of the public in the construction of the dam ensures the completion of the dam on schedule.
