South Africa: IFP Congratulates 11-Year-Old Author

press release

THE Inkatha Freedom Party in Kwa-Zulu Natal proudly congratulates 11-year-old Anele Dlamini on the publication of her second book.

Dlamini is a Grade 5 learner who has shown creativity by coming with ideas for her books and she is currently working on her third book.

“This young author is an inspiration to all learners. In a country where literacy levels are so low, along comes someone like Anele to show people that age should not be a barrier to what one wants to achieve,” said Hon. Les Govender, Shadow MEC for Social Development.

Dlamini was given support and encouragement by her family as she wrote letters to them and drew pictures as a means of communicating her messages.

“Getting children to read is a challenge in our province. We must encourage young people to read and write in order to raise education levels among our people. I hope that Anele’s books will be found in our schools and public libraries so that other children can be inspired,” said Hon. Govenor.
