Angola: Culture Sector Wants Experts to Promote Research

Lubango — The director of Culture of the southern Huila province, Marcelina Gomes, Wednesday in Lubango, called for the urgent need to increase the number of experts in cultural and research in order to retrieve the history and assets in the southern region of Angola.

Speaking on the functioning of the institution in the 11 months this year, the official said that the sector need staff in specialities of anthropology, archeology, sociology, history, as well as researchers.

He said there are historians in the province, but many do not pursue their real task, while in other specialities there is a huge shortage.

According to him, this is a factor that prevents the collection of data on the achievements of the province and its typical history.
