Angola: Govt to Build Drainage Ditch in Rangel, Basin in Zango

Luanda — The Luanda Provincial Government will soon build drainage ditches in the urban district of Rangel to enable the flow of rain and waste water , said Wednesday the deputy governor for Technical department, António Resende.

The official of Luanda government who was speaking at a press conference stressed the current state of the municipalities of Luanda and its immediate solutions.

According to António Resende, the rundown condition of the basic sanitation of urban district of Rangel forced the government to approve its macro-upgrading in order to offer a more dignified quality of life of its residents.

As for the Zango commune, in Viana district, Luanda province, the official said that his government plans to build a temporary water retention basin, as they await to build a permanent canal.

"Regarding the floods recorded in "ponte molhada" (wet bridge), in Bela district, the provincial government of Luanda is working on its replacement", he said.
