Nigeria: FG Approves Development Plans for Nation, Niger Delta

Three decades after the Third National Development Plan was jettisoned, the federal government has picked up the gauntlet by approving a new framework for the National Integrated Infrastructural Development Master Plan, which will catapult the country into the ranks of the 20 developed nation by 2020.

This was part of the decisions reached at the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by Vice President Muhammad Namadi Sambo, during which it was disclosed that the apex government also approved the establishment of an advisory council for the coordination of development activities in the oil rich Niger Delta region.
