Rwanda: Miss Rwanda in 'Car Wash' Fundraiser

MISS Rwanda 2012 Aurora Umutesi, will on December 8, participate in a fundraising campaign, 'Car Wash', to raise funds to support child headed families.

These children, who take care of their fellow children, live in the village of Uyisenga N'imanzi in Niboye, Kicukiro. The orphans have been living in Uyisenga N'imanzi since August 2004.

In a recent meeting held at Kigali Serena Hotel, Nelly Ingabire, one of the organisers said: "We are meeting to prepare a fundraiser that will help us visit these children."

Contact FM's Jeanne de Chantal Mugabushaka, also known as Eminente and Rwanda Television's Evelyne Umurerwa are among the organisers of the event that will take place at Car Wash Grill and Sports bar in Kimihurura.

"Being a charity event, we call upon companies, dignitaries and well-wishers to come and support the event," said Mugabushaka.

Some of the day's activities include washing cars at Rwf10, 000 each-but concert goers will pay extra Rwf2, 000 to attend a concert after washing the cars.

The fundraiser starts at 10 am and ends at 3pm.

Restaurants such as, Meze Fresh, Stone House, Mr Chips and Car Wash Grill and Sports Bar have confirmed to provide food and snacks at the event. Drinks will be purchased at the venue.
