Tunisia: Universities Support Manouba Dean

The staff of Tunisia's Manouba University on Tuesday (November 20th) expressed support for dean Habib Kazdaghli, who faces trial on Thursday for allegedly assaulting a student wearing the niqab, Tunisie Numerique reported.

Several universities across the country will observe a two-hour strike on Thursday.

Earlier this year, the university near Tunis was rocked by protests and weeks-long sit-ins by salafists over the niqab ban.

The dean faces five years in jail if convicted.
