THREE Zimbabwean golfers Ryan Cairns, Dean Schoultz and Micky Hough will be taking part in the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open at Royal Cape Golf Club in South Africa this morning. The trio will be among a large field in the Sunshine Tour event that comes barely a week after the prestigious South Africa Open.
Schoultz who failed to make a cut in the last tournament will be looking forward for a better outing this time.
He will tee off at 8:30am and will play along Korean Sung-Moon Hohng and South African Thomas Lovett in the first round.
Cairns will get to the field at lunch time and will play with the South African duo of Jacques Blaauw and Charl Coetzee.
The last ball of the day will have Schoultz Rocky Tlhabanyane and Gregg Upton who will tee of at 1:20pm.
The event has 52 entries and has attracted international players who are still in the country after playing in the South Africa Open last week.
South Africa Open is listed on the European Tour so attracts several points and the players usually come in their numbers.
The event is sponsored to the tune of R1,987.
The course may be favourite for local players, as Nick Price is still the course record holder with his 61 he managed during his competitive days.
