Namibia: Bikers Toy Run Brings Joy to Needy Children

A bumper gathering of bikes of all makes and sizes turned up in their droves for the annual Live To Ride Toy Run which was held in Windhoek on Saturday. An estimated 80 bikers all bearing toys for the needy children this Xmas displayed their might when they thundered through town in a mass ride, before heading out to Olympia meet a host of underprivileged children who were treated to a day of fun in the sun with toys, food and jumping castle galore.

Once again the biking community gave generously for the cause, and about 3 000 toys were collected by bikers and friends which were dropped off by their bakkie load.

Said Lollo De Klerk (Secretary Treasurer): "It brought tears to my eyes to see children in such need, many of them had not had proper to eat in days.

"But on the up side we must praise our bikers for giving from the heart so generously, and bringing happiness and joy into the lives of those children who have so little."

A big thanks goes to the sponsors Bike & Quad Clinic, Hollard Insurance and Namrisk who facilitated this year's Toy Run.
