Luanda — A new support package from the Gates Foundation to the vaccination team of the World Health Organization (WHO) and its regional office was announced last Wednesday, in Luanda, by the chairman of the World Programme of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Christopher Elias.

ANGOP learnt that this measure is aimed at helping to strengthen the WHO system in various fronts.

Speaking at the 62nd session of WHO's Regional Committee, Christopher Elias, explained that this reinforcement is intended to improve the collecting, analysis and treatment of data.

He went on saying that the supply and logistical network will facilitate the development of a virtual platform to collect and share the knowledge about the best practices and optimize the system.

The new assistance package also includes training for WHO staff and managers of vaccination programmes, through a dynamic on-line programme.
