Egypt: Communication Minister - Blocking Porno Websites Needs Legislation

Minister of communication and Technology Hani Mahmoud said that the resolution of blocking the porno websites can only be issued through a legislation approved by the parliament or a resolution from the president.

Mahmoud also said he sent a letter to the General Prosecutor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud to explain that the ministry of Communication is a technical ministry, not legal.

He said that a lot of Arabian countries tried to apply all the means to block this porno websites, but it proved to be difficult, adding that anyone can log into these websites easily through any source.

He highlighted that there is not any law that is issued by the general prosecutor to block these porno websites.
