Uganda: Bengo Dropped From Cranes Squad

Steven Bengo has been dropped from the Cranes squad preparing to defend the Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup title.

The flamboyant midfielder was the most prominent exclusion from the 20-man team that coach Bobby Williamson released on Wednesday.

The full squad includes:

Goal keepers:

Ali Kimera, Hamza Muwonge, Abel Dhaira

Defenders:

Denis Iguma, Nicholas Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi, Joseph Ochaya, Henry Kalungi, Isaac Isinde, Hassan Wasswa

Midfielders:

Saidi Kyeyune, Godfrey Kizito, Joseph Mpande, Manko Kawesa, Moses Oloya, Brian Majwega

Strikers:

Robert Sentongo, Emma Okwi, Hamis Kizza, Brian Umony

Hayatou arrives today

The Confederation African Football (CAF) President Issa Hayatou arrives in the country today.

Hayatou will be accompanied by his General Secretary Hicham El Amrani, who has been in office since September.

Other than just attending the CECAFA Congress tomorrow, Hayatou will also watch subsequent matches of the tournament that starts on Saturday at Namboole Stadium.

All matches will be live on SuperSport East.
