Angola: Textile Factory to Start Production By 2013

Luanda — The textile plant "Textang II", located in Cazenga district, Luanda, will resume its production late 2013, said Thursday the minister of Industry, Bernarda da Silva.

Speaking to the press, ahead of celebration of National Industry Day, on Friday, the minister said that the recovery of the factory is estimated at 20 billion kwanza and is in charge of Japanese technicians, assisted by Angolans.

She said that the first experiments for the operation of the infrastructure is slated to begin next December.

The recovery of Textang II, that remained paralyzed for over two decades, is part of the programme of the Angolan government to diversify the national economy and revive the manufacturing industry.
