Nigeria: Reps Raise Alarm Over Impending Food Crisis
By Turaki A. Hassan
The House of Representatives yesterday expressed serious concern over imminent food shortages in Nigeria as a result of the recent flood disaster in the country.
Adopting a motion on the matter sponsored by Rep Mohammed Shamsudeen Abdullahi (CPC, Kaduna), and two others, the House urged the Federal Government to declare areas affected by the floods as "disaster zones" and accord them the state of national emergency.
