Nigeria: Boko Haram - Soldiers Uncover Weapons, Vehicles - Ihejirika

Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirika yesterday said soldiers have seized weapons, huge sums of money and vehicles meant for suicide bombings.

He made the remarks at a meeting with Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar at the police headquarters in Abuja.

He said weapons and vehicles destined for suicide bombings were recovered in the north-east. "Within the last one week, soldiers have recovered not less than 30 types of assault weapons and huge amount of money concealed in engine compartments of vehicles belonging to terrorists.

Also, vehicles meant for bomb attacks were recovered."

He called on Nigerians not to harbouring "terrorists in their houses because by doing so, they are endangering civilians."

Abubakar said both services will commence joint trainings on internal security management.
