Angola: Namibian Parliament Speaker Recalls Sacrifices Made By Angolans

The Speaker of Namibian Parliament, Theo- Been Gurirab, last Thursday in Windhoek recalled the sacrifices made by the Angolan people for the liberation of Namibia and other countries, under the leadership of Angola's first president, Agostinho Neto.

Been Gurirab said so at a meeting with the chairwoman of the Dr Agostinho Neto Foundation (FAN), Maria Eugénia Neto, who is in Windhoek on a five-day visit, at the invitation of Namibia's Head of State, Hifikepunye Pohamba.

Maria Eugénia Neto expressed her thanks and explained the functioning and activities of the FAN, since its creation four years ago prompted by the need to divulge Agostinho Neto's legacy.

In the end, Namibia's Parliament Speaker offered a medal to Maria Eugénia Neto, who, in turn, handed some poetry works of her late husband to the Namibian parliamentarian.
