Egypt: FJP Deputy Head Commends Gaza Ceasefire

The ceasefire Egypt brokered between Palestinian resistance and Israel paves the way for a new stage for the people of Palestine, Essam al-Erian, deputy head of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), said on Wednesday.

On his Facebook page, Erian urged who he called "Palestinian adversaries" to work on completing the reconciliation and putting the Cairo agreement into effect.

As per the agreement, Israel and Hamas agreed on ceasefire after more than a week of fighting in the Gaza Strip where 140 Palestinians and five Israelis were killed.

Erian called on Arabs to direct all their financial, economic and defence abilities to support Palestine and Jerusalem.

He pointed to the importance of confronting Israel's intransigence by withdrawing or freezing the Arab initiative for peace.

"The whole world has changed, not just the Arab world. Israel's leaders are witnessing something new they have not seen for 60 years," Erian added.
