Nigeria: You Can't Try Us, Subsidy Suspects Tell Lagos Court

Lagos — Two oil marketers, Samuel Bamidele Aro and Abiodun Bankole yesterday asked an Ikeja High court to wash its hands off the alleged N1.3 billion oil subsidy fraud charge levelled against them on the ground that the court lacks power to entertain the case.

In a preliminary objection filed by Chief Anthony Idigbe, SAN, on their behalf which was briefly argued before Justice Lateefa Okunnu, the marketers challenged the ability of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to arraign them.
