Angola: Minister Admits Lack of Conditions for Development of Theatre

The minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, admitted in Luanda that there is lack of conditions in Angola for the development of theatre, a situation that calls for partnerships.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony of the 4th International Training of Portuguese Speaking Countries' Actors, supported by the European Union, through the Africa, The Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Cultural Programme, Rosa Cruz e Silva stressed the importance of the initiative, adding that it has been on demand for long time.

According to the minister, there is theatre in various parts of Angola and youths are available to develop the art, despite the lack of staff to train them.

Minister Rosa Cruz e Silva guaranteed also that despite the difficulties, the Ministry of Culture will insist on keeping partnerships for the development of the country's theatre.
