National Secretary General of the All People's Congress (APC), Victor Foh, has said that his party is not claiming any political results until the pronouncement of the final outcome of the polls by the National Electoral Commission boss, Dr. Christiana Thorpe.
He made this statement at a brief press conference organized at the party's headquarters yesterday which attracted party stalwarts including members of the APC in the Diaspora.
Mr. Foh said while they are anxiously waiting the final pronouncement of the electoral results, the APC party is urging all Sierra Leoneans to be patient. "We believe that NEC is the only legal institution that is mandated by law to announce the final election results and we are unequivocally committed to accept the election results when announced by NEC," he said.
He reiterated the APC party's commitment to be law abiding and positively contribute and guarantee the security and safety of every Sierra Leonean irrespective of ethnic group, region, religion or political affiliation.
He thanked their development partners including both national and international election observers, the media and democratic institutions for their contributions in the conduct of the election.
Foh also stated that they are not expecting any run-off, adding that their presidential, parliamentarian, mayoral and councillorship candidates will score enough votes. He expressed profound appreciation to all APC supporters for upholding law and order during election campaign, election day and thereafter.
