Egypt: Injured At Mohamed Mahmoud Reach 166 - Health Ministry

The total number of people injured in the Mohamed Mahmoud clashes over the past few days has reached 166, the Health Ministry reported.

The confrontations between protesters and the police on Thursday left 14 injured, 12 of whom were transferred to al-Mounira General Hospital and the other two to al-Qasr al-Aini Hospital, al-Watan newspaper reported the official spokesman of the ministry Ahmed Amr as saying.

Clashes have been ongoing between security forces and protesters since Monday after thousands of Egyptians commemorated the first anniversary of last November scuffles where more than 40 were killed and hundreds were injured.

The Ministry of Interior announced that 92 of its policemen were injured including 21 officers and 71 conscripts.
