Zimbabwe: Stop Bad Habits

Do you have habits that can destroy you? Why should you keep a habit that destroys you? Is there any habit that you are unable to break? Why keep a habit that can derail you from your glorious destiny? We all know this to be true that we all have or at one time had habits that can bring us to the ground if not stopped. Some of us have harboured and nursed these habits for

such a long time they have become a part of us. Such habits are just like a time bomb which you can carry and live with; but the end is eventually it will explode on you. Some of these habits are so petty like never being time conscious and some as grave and dangerous as substance abuse.

You know the habit you have that you are supposed to break before it breaks you. Never underestimate any adverse habit because that small little habit is what will destroy you.

Small things like procrastination, never keeping time, just throwing words, lying, inter alia, have stopped many people from achieving their destinies. Like I said you know your habits that you should break.

Who is responsible for breaking a habit and how should you do it? We are not going to prescribe a 10 step process to breaking bad habits but we are going to tell you just a simple one step practise.

One step, really? Off course someone is asking if we are serious about prescribing one step. Yes one step. The answer is you and only you possess the power to break any bad habit that you developed.

Someone will probably be asking how they do this. Well the answer is simple. Do it by just stopping it; simply stopping it. If truly exercised the human mind or will is such a powerful force that cannot be contented against.

If you really make up your mind to stop any habit that you created you will definitely stop it.

Just stop it before it kills you. Decide today to stop any bad habit and see after some time if you will still have it.

It's simply a matter of genuinely deciding to break the habit and then working on it. Before you know it you will be over that bad habit.

Off course to make it easy for you have to find ways of covering up for the time you used to occupy with that habit you have kicked. There will be empty spaces that you will create in your routine by kicking your normal daily habit. If you are not careful then you will end up relapsing to that old habit you had.

You simply have to replace that bad habit you created that you are kicking with a new habit that is more desirable and noble. That is a sure way to prevent going back into the same habit.

There is obviously another thing that you have to do. Do away with everything, place or people that remind you of the old habit that you are kicking.

If you keep friends that remind you or take you back to where you used to they will easily draw you back to that old habit. At times you just have to give yourself tough love to stay away from your friends and the things you like that draw you back to the same old habit. Stay away from place that drag you back to the same old habit.

If for example partying is a habit you like but you want to kick alcoholism you might just want to tone down on the partying until you are strong enough to resist the temptation to take alcohol.

Ultimately there are also benefits that come with kicking away old habits. You could become an example and a beacon of hope to many other people that suffer from the same habit around you.

You being able to kick that habit away could be evidence enough to others that it can be done. You could also then share your story with others that haven't been in the same habit but were going to that it's a wrong path to take.

Take a pledge today to write a list of all bad habits that you have that can stop you and destroy you. Make a conscious decision to stop that habit before it kills you. Ultimately you will prevail.

To put the icing on the cake replace each bad habit with a new good habit. Replace fear with belief, lying with honesty, selfishness with considering others.

Only you have the power to stop that bad habit before it kills you!

Till next week guys God bless you all.
