Maendeleo ya Wanawake has planned a Mama Nite to be staged at the Carnivore tonight.
The event is part of the festivities to mark 60 years of the organisation's existence. MYW was founded in 1952.
The highlight of the festivities will be held on Monday. It will be presided over by President Kibaki and PM Raila Odinga.
MYK executive director Hellen Makone says the event is one way of sending a message of peace and harmony to the people of Kenya as they head to the elections.
"The main objective of Mama Nite is to unite the nation," Makone says, pointing out they will use the occasion to launch a book whose theme is Peace.
Some of the artistes who will perform at the event are Suzanne Owiyo and Kayamba Africa.
The entry cards are sold at the organisation's headquarters at Maendeleo House, fourth floor, in Nairobi.
They retail at Sh2,500 and Sh5,000 for VIP tickets.
