Kenya: City Youth in Support of Security Operations

A group of youths from estates in Nairobi yesterday demonstrated in support of the security operations in Baragoi and Garissa.

The group calling itself Mavuno Youth Congress wants the killers of 42 police officers in Baragoi and nine police officers in Garissa brought to justice.

Led by their National chairman Oscar Igaida and organising secretary Evan Edagiza, MYC asked the government to allocate more resources to the Internal Security ministry to enable it deal effectively with insecurity.

The demonstration began at Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park through Kenyatta Avenue and Taifa Road to the Office of the President at Harambee Avenue.

Edagiza said the Kenya Defense Forces and the police can secure the country and its border only if there are sufficient funds and support from the government and Kenyans.
