Information gathered by this reporter has it that the Director General of the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Abdoulie Ebrima Jammeh and six other Members of staff, who were arrested on Monday, 19th of November 2012, have been released on Police bail on Tuesday 20th of November 2012.

Impeccable sources have it that Mr. Jammeh, the GCAA Director General, Buba Cham - Director of Commerce, Fatou Ceesay - Financial Director, Paul Mboob - Supplier, Sulayman Jatta - Director of Human Resources and Administration, Amie Cham, and the Civil Aviation Lawyer, were called by the Police and detained up to the following day (Tuesday) and released on bail.

When contacted on Thursday 22nd of November, the Police Public Relation Officer ASP David Kujabi confirmed that the Director General of the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority Abdoulie Jammeh and the six other members of staff were released but was quick to add that they were invited for questioning.

Asked about what the issue for questioning is and whether charges have been levelled against them, PRO Kujabi said that investigation is going on and that whenever they are charged he will inform this reporter accordingly.
