Egypt: Country Keen On Enhancing Cooperation With Comesa

Investment Minister Osama Saleh invited members of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) who are holding a summit in Kampala to attend the third COMESA summit in Cairo in the second half of 2013.

In the speech of President Mohammed Morsy to the Uganda-hosted summit which he read out, Minister Saleh noted that the COMESA grouping contributed to increasing exchanged investments by member states and boosting the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and COMESA states.

Saleh stressed the need for boosting economic integration by COMESA states with emphasis on small projects.

Egypt was keen to provide all technical and financial resources to support the private sector and establish links between small and big projects under the umbrella of the Egyptian Social Fund for Development (SFD), Saled said.
