THREE Kisii county Kuppet officials on Thursday denied charges of malicious damage to property before a Kisii Court.

Union Chairman Argwings Obaga, Executive Secretary Ben Nyaundi and Treasurer Jerald Bosire denied before Chief Magistrate Ann Ongijo that on November 20th at the Storm Hotel they damaged two plastic chairs that are property of the Hotel. The chairs are valued at Sh1, 410.

They also face another charged of creating disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace contrary to Section 95(1)(b) of the Penal Code.

The three were arrested after storming a Knut meeting on Tuesday afternoon where the latter was allegedly expected to receive defectors from Kuppet.

Ongijo ordered that the three be released on a bond of Sh 10, 000 and a surety of similar amount or cash bail of Sh 5, 00 until December 6 when the case will be mentioned.
